I agree with nearly everything you said, until you said sleep deprivation is not torture. I regularly have sleeping problems, at the moment i've had about 20 hours in the last week, including 6 hours of that being last night... and whilst its not the exact same conditions it is hell... and what the methods are significantly worse... plus, keeping you awake that long you aren't thinking straight by that point... 3 days or so awake, they let you fall asleep then wake you and immediately question. at that point you aren't thinking straight, duress... all the standard reasons why torture is not viable under any circumstance.

When it comes to the torture subject if I knew for a fact that a suspect was involved then to me there is no limit to the means at which information can be collected.
Example:
Bad guy #1 is caught with plutonium that he is trying to sell to Bad guy #2
The reprecussions of what someone selling/buying plutonium on the black market has on a global level justifies any means to get the information as to who, what, where, when and why. There wouldn't be anything that is out of bounds when it comes to gathering that intel and I can assure you it would get messy. - and if you do it in front of the other suspects then their questioning becomes that much easier and they are willing to offer up all they know because of their fear of you. This worked quite well in Nam when the south would question the norths prisoners and vise versa..... 3 prisioners go up in a helicopter and 2 come back down talking their heads off.

Ive not really read all of this post but as its to do with US elections can I just say one thing? I am absolutely over the moon with the US just now, cause looks like its either going to be the first Woman or Black President which is fooking amazing imo I dont think clinton is the best choice but people in America will know better than me. But whatever one wins its kickass Carry on.....

They're helluva quiet at the moment though, aren't they? Maybe they know that GWB is about unleash Armageddon and they're not giving a damn since no-one will make it to any elections..

Billary isn't doing herself any favours, is she? During a speech on Iraq last week, Mrs Clinton said of the March 1996 (Bosnia) trip: “I remember landing under sniper fire. There was supposed to be some kind of a greeting ceremony at the airport, but instead we just ran with our heads down to get into the vehicles to get to our base.â€
But the video of her arrival shows Mrs Clinton and her daughter Chelsea smiling and waving as they walked at a leisurely pace across the tarmac from a cargo plane, stopping to shake hands with Bosnia’s acting president and listen while an 8-year-old girl read out a poem. She's probably been doing the dinner party rounds with that tall tale for so long that she's begun to believe it herself..

Yeah, I scratched my head on that one too. I've yet to meet a politician that tells the truth anyways. I like Hillary and I think she may be our best chance for getting out of Iraq with out a willy nilly haul ass out and let it explode ordeal. I think she may understand a bit more of what foreign policy entails than Obama. It is a big fecking lie though, isn't it?

Course, Obama has the trump card of having actual understanding of the Muslim Faith from a personal perspective, which could do wonders for the American Foreign Policy, tbh.
