They (Muslim States) generally allow it because Mohammed's second wife was 8 or something.
It's hard to imagine that anyone in their right mind could find that practice acceptable, never mind a whole religion.

I meant that there are many other girls like her who are far worse off in that they continue to be abused on a daily basis and she was very close to becoming one of these. In that sense I meant she was lucky to escape. |

It's the only way some can survive over there. I listened to a program about it on the radio a couple of weeks ago, because of the Caste System (which a lot of people are trying to abolish) it's either that or begging on the street.  |
