Yesterday during POTBS my game kept freezing up, then I'd have to manually turn off my pc and reboot, a message keeps coming up nv4 display driver stopped working properly.
When I google it, it brings up pages with offers to fix the prob but I'm a bit concerned it may be full of spyware or a virus, does anyone know of a reliable source to fix the prob.....help please...thanx in advance.......  Sad

I take it you've already tried completely removing the existing drivers and installing the latest ones?

There's a guide here..

Had that problem myself. Uninstall the driver, use Driver Cleaner and reinstall the latest drivers from the same site. Guru 3D. It fixed my problem, and it's a fairly common one. Obviously. Cool

For myself, it's Vista. That is detriment enough in itself. What kicks me in the gonads and has me seriously thinking about dual booting is the idea that I would probably get a 15% performance boost in  gaming in XP. Not sure it's worth it though. I have plenty of system and only a couple of games push my system.

Off topic for the thread semi-rant. scratchhead

I find my games run better in Vista...XP is sitting on a drive and largely ignored over the past few months.

Won't help. I have the weirdest fecking problem and the answer I've gotten is could be your video drivers. In COD4, sometimes after downloading a map and booting the map for a server, I get game lag. If I shut down the game, I'll find that I'll have as many as 6 separate instances of COD4 running. Emailed everyone and was basically told by everyone to get fecked, it's not their problem. It doesn't happen that often, so it's not a huge deal, but it's still a pain in th arse.
Good luck. What video card are you using?

It does seem to be a driver problem, I've tried everything......and it eventually comes back, maybe I'll shoot them an email, telling them I'm a 'big gamer', with hundreds of contacts, and I'll tell everyone I know not to buy there product....  Angry
And if that doesnt work, I'll scratch their eyes out....   wacko
