God knows, the molex connector (power) might have had a bit of a poor connection, but that would be unusual too (the things are rock solid normally), and the light was on.

None of those screw were particularly long were they?
They shouldn't be any longer than about 5mm, around the 10mm mark and they might foul the drive tray.  scratchhead

No the screws as you say were about 5mm......While it was out it operated a lot more smoothly then now its back in the case & getting it out was a struggle so maybe its the fit that is wrong in some way..... scratchhead

When I close the draw it takes 30 seconds to show the startup page of the disk thats in is that about right?Huh?

Should be quicker tbh, but it depends on the condition of the disk and the content.

If it's an SATA drive, the plug may have just worked loose. Was the cable on the back a flat ribbon or was it a round cable with a flat end? SATA cables are notorious for having weak couplers.

Its the flat ribbon type......Seems O.K now so I'll leave it for the mo & see what happens..
