Winter is coming!

« on: September 11, 2008, 12:31:20 PM »

Brown has cut a deal that thinks is good for us all.

The energy  ie: gas and electricity companies have are footing the bill for free insulation and helping people find cheaper tarrifs, yeah right, those don't exist.

The companies are only agreeing as the money that will pay for it comes from a European energy initiative, so they are paying feck all, it's our money held back to us rebranded.
Anyway, fair do's but once again free loaders get everything, pensioners, the infirm fair dos. Long term unemployed, feck off.

Wait a mo, i get a 50% reduction in insulation, great i can't afford to pay at a quarter price.

Brown thinks he's a champion of the poor with this pish, I'm sick of it.
What about us Prime Minister ? What about us ?

My flat is in a long term Labour seat, most of the people in similar flats are pensioners or infirm, yet the windows are still single glazed and the loft insulation is piss poor at best.

Then the energy companies will pay for insulation.

Whoooppeeeee.

Weird though having single glazing, most council properties are doubled these days afaik, but I thought the pensioners flats had very little pensioners these days.

There's still a fair few in them plus handicapped and social care, single glazing throughout (they don't want to fork out for new windows apparently).

I did get the housing officer to come out and look at the loft insulation though, even though I reported the issue 18 months ago.
Tell you one thing, they tried to fob the problem off all over the place ("I think that's another department"..etc.)

Let's see how well they do, eh? Wink
