Dog days of summer have arrived.

Here are some videos of Senator McCain on The View.

I know that some people think that The View is a "hen party", but I think these women really questioned him in an intelligent way and I really don't think that he stood up to the scrutiny.  I definitely have a biased view so I'd like to hear your commentary.  Even though, most of you don't have a vote in this election, all of you will be effected.

personally I don't think I could have sat on the same couch as him.  Good on ya girls!

Shame on Whoopie for not knowing what century it is!

Russians bad guys?  Really?  Can we back that up?  Can we go to war with the Russians, really?

Roe V Wade....was a bad decision?  Very scary...

More scary things follow...

Soz Cath, but that's not exactly what I'd call a good political platform.

Everyone else on the show and in the audience come with their own bias, so there isn't any  (for instance) really awkward questions he has to answer..it's all pre-scripted, assurances made, talking head stuff.

This is the kind of thing you..probably..should be looking for..

Bas..sorry, Candidate, getting dragged over the coals and being forced away from his comfortable, scripted dialogue. (The Lib-Dems should have kept Kennedy as party leader imho..sure he had a habit of nipping down to OddBins for 20 Benny-Henny and half a dozen cans of lager...but who the hell doesn't?)

TBH I think Paxman is a bit of a smug twat, but he does manage to drive a wedge into their flanks time after time.

Sorry to bring up our GW again, but you can see the value in reporters going for the heart in this interview..and how a savvy politician can roll with it, and again how a good reporter can stick it to them.. (Even though I think Paxman was a bit of a twat again in this clip)

Tower Hamlets in London seems to be doing quite well 3 years later..without Labour. confused

No, I totally agree its not a good political platform.  It's just that you get to see a relaxed candidate saying all the stupid things that they can & will say.  I know he was with a friendly audience.  Just watching with the skeptical eye, brings out so many problems.  Not to mention I'm pretty sure only one of the hosts is a Republican, Elizabeth.  Barbara would never say where she stands on the political front.  The other three are definitely Democrats.  Their audience is mostly stay at home moms and housewives.  I think the majority of those women are probably Republicans, because they can afford to be...

Oh, and stop saying sorry.  I didn't create the show or pick the candidate.  Everyone is entitled to their opinion.

Ok, I'll stop saying sorry. Wink

Getting to the bone though.
McCain will have been scripted for weeks, if not months in advance for that program..

It's bread & butter material.
He wasn't that casual tbh, there was a bit less pressure sure, but he still stuck to his lines like a freight train.
He had a head full of notes to stick to, and when it went off them into 'serious' politics, he just stuck to his lines.

I know, that's what I was talking about.  You put it in better words.

Frankly the web of deceit i see from the McCain campaign makes me wonder how anyone can actually vote for that man... the matt damon thing in the other thread made me laugh, cos McCain has a very good chance of popping his cloggs and the disney-esque Palin in charge could very well happen lol.

Course, i remember the rest of the World saying 'how could anyone vote for Bush again' and look how that ended up :|

They did and at the same time they were very busy claiming we cheated. History showed the truth of that though. Wink
