You know what i mean... as you're typing away at your keyboard you have one of those moments of pure unadulterated genius...
On another forum i use there is a bit of a debate about evolution vs creationism. With a bit of drift, it got to Atheism vs Religion and how whenever Atheists get power, murder ensues naming Stalin, Lenin and Hitler. Stalin and Lenin being Marxist as well as Atheist but that point is allegedly irrelevant. Oh, and Hitler as a very extremist type of Christian.
Anyway, they went on ahh, but Science has killed more than Relgion. All weapons are science! Only a point a moron would make about Atheism vs Religion.
'Sure, scientific discovery has killed more... purely because all weapons are based on science. Last time i checked i'd not heard anyone being religioned to death in a brutal drive by sermon'
I think i win with that, lol.

Can't flaw your logic.
It's the type of debate I'm steering clear of at the moment.
In a few forums I always find people who have a religious persuasion are mocked, does me 'ead in.

Unfortunately, some of them bring it on themselves... especially in cases like this lol.
Basically they are saying, if Atheists get power they murder people. They didn't like it when i pointed out the reverse is true as well.

They're the most futile arguments ever tbh.
In Masonic meetings religious and political talk is disallowed, feckin years ahead of it's time tbh for a social event.

Only problem with that, is people have been religioned to death. The Crusades, the religious wars in the world, ritual sacrifices etc. I'd say between deaths from science, atheism, or religion it's probably about even. The common denominator being humans. I like to debate religion vs atheism. I am an atheist, but it's my personal view, and wouldn't make fun of anyone of religious faith, or push my own views on them. Truth is its all about faith or lack of.

I'm almost certain that religion saved tonnes of peple in the old days when it was a structured waqy of life before modern free thinking. It did! Did I tell ye. Did. Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

We've possibly sparked off the third huge extinction event in the planets history, and there's every chance we'll be one of the species that goes down with it.
No doubt the world religions are rubbing their hands in anticipation of a sudden surge in 'believers'.
(Tbh looking down from heaven on a world of death and suffering, while the boss does fuck all to intervene is a personal vision of hell for me, but each to their own I suppose.)

I just think that religion was the single most important and significant factor in structuring society as we know it today. Okay, humans are more advanced these days and it's not as relevant in modern day society as it once was. But it did play it's part in shaping us to what we are.

Good call right enough.. I'd have unlocked it right away anyway.. It should maybe be a Soap Box job though.. Btw..so you're saying that basically all modern societies ills are the result of religion? That could also be a good call..
