right I've waited long enough to get this off my chest...

I for one was glad, not necessarily for who he is (Obama) being sworn in/voted for but most definitely for the air of optimism that he brings, worldwide at that too.
But (there's always a but with me isn't there

)watching the BBC on his inauguration day I had been enjoying the change of mood, and interviews with links to the new Mr Presi seemed to reflect his apparent humility and new approach on the world stage. Great, this going well good I thought, a wee bit of dignified humility goes a long way to self realised wisdom. Until that is....

Until some senior adviser of Mr Obama's appeared on the BBC in an interview. Not important enough to be behind the scenes on the day, but imprtant enough on the next level down to do a BeeB interview.
All was well when asked about how advisers would advise him on foriegn policy. standard dogmatic answer I presume. But when asked his
own opinions it went shit at the speed of light
"we need a new leader in America, a new president who can lead the world. Because let's make no mistake about it, he is not just the American president but the World president" (words to that effect).
Erm, no he ain't, you arrogant feck. He's the most influential leader in the World, there can be no doubt about that, but he is most definitely not the world president.
It kinda ruined the whole feel good air of optimism factor about President Obama for me. I'm not blaming Obama himself, but that kind of arrogance just stinks of Bush'ism to me.
Here's hoping he really was a junior in the whole advisor system and not a senior at all.
