I don't like guns much and for very good reason.
I had a gun thrust into my stomach on a bus over here some years ago and was almost made to disappear by the secret military police.
An armed looney came into my shop a few weeks ago and threatened to shoot me. I gave him the money. Much safer.
My girlfriend's psychotic ex husband went on a shooting spree outside the family home looking for me.
When she movd from the house, we found about 20 loaded handguns hidden under floorboards and several in cupboards and one on the fridge---loaded, no safety.
A shoot out occured outside our house not long ago, involving the police and a lone gunman. They failed to seal off the street and peering out the window it looked like Arnie had just arrived in town.
I could go on. Maybe I've just landed on the wrong planet.
Guns + the wrong hand = disaster.

Mental is the word I'd use. confused

Some cities seem to be constantly on the crux of collapsing into anarchy.

This country has a long history of anarchy and seems unable to govern itself (next year we all celebrate 200 years of independance from the Spanish). The English invaded twice, but were defeated by pro Spanish Argentine troops. If I had a penny for the times I've heard 'if only you Brits had succeeded, maybe we wouldn't be in the mess we are now'
Having said all this, I wouldn't be living here if I didn't want to.
The people are some of the kindest and most polite I've met. The women are beautiful and very passionate. The meat, particularly the massive steaks are legendry. They are crazy about rugby, tennis and horses, not to mention football (which I couldn't give a toss about) and contrary to public opinion, they have the deepest of respect for we British. I have to keep reminding myself that it wasn't the Argentine people that invaded the Falklands (Malvinas), but a tin pot Military dictator by the name of Galtieri.

I don't think anyone over here (apart from the odd idiot) has ever held that against the people of Argentina.
And it was the final nail in the coffin for Galtieri.

When Maradona turned up here last year, as coach for an international friendly between Scotland and Argentina, some people would have sold their Granny for a ticket. biggrin

No, I know they don't. Well said.
Maradona has God-like status over here. He's everywhere. I'm not a great fan of his, but I'm pleased to see that he has successfully got his health back to normal. That must have been hard.

The reason folks wanted to see him over if at all was because he has the famous 'Hand of God' and that he's a fat feckin clown.    laugh

Aegentina is one of the places I would like to visit.  One day I hope to do a trip around South America and go there and Chile.

Highly recommended Vasco.
Also, your knowledge of Spanish would be an enormous help to you.

One of the reasons I want to go there is to get some immersion and be forced to use the language.

I also want to perve at all those really hot looking ladies.
