Maybe..

There are talks of a rail bridge spanning the 21 miles of sea between Scotland and Ireland, so you could travel to Dublin in about 90 minutes from Glasgow and would provide a direct rail link from Ireland to Europe (via the Channel Tunnel)..

A wee problem though, Ireland would have to rip up its existing track and bin it's rolling stock for the link since they run on a different gauge..  Wink
