^ Ha. If it's out of stock they can say the unit will only cost a bargain 5p. When they're back in stock then they'll tell you what it really costs!

I exist in a dark place where no light intrudes and none is promised. It's growing yet darker. I added this sig a year ago. It's a lot worse now...

It's probably down to the post processing it's capable of. Some cheap TV's are terrible at it and it looks like the images have been painted on with MS Paint.

The contrast ratios on both those sets are dire, that's why they're so cheap. It wouldn't feel like HD at all. That's one of the reason the other set is a bit pricier.

I agree with Keaster... there are plenty of things that make a TV... not just the panel size and resolution are the criteria.

I'm glad I'm happy with my set ATM. Researching a set before purchase becomes tedious, but essential.

Me too, I did a lot of research before getting my current Monitor TV jobby... needed all the right ports, decent viewing angles etc, not even accounting for 1080p and panel stuff... Even saw one in action before I bought it.. but needed to be monitor capable..
I saw a large amount of 32" TVs that could have fit the bill... but low contrast, low res... no hdmi, etc, etc let them all down, plus they all had the problem of TV's being used as a monitor. Whilst my Monitor jobby isn't the most accomplished TV ever.... it's pretty decent... it's a bit slow on initial startup to get to the first channel, but it's good from there... the EPG is a bit balls too but I never use that anyway... but has a wealth of ports on the back to hook up the 360/PS3, PC, and Server without having to change anything and can swap with a remote. Win!

I check frequently for updates for my set, Philips aren't to bad in that dept.
It's also capable of running home scripted linux code, last I checked some mob had started a freeware FW for it but it seems to have fell away.
