Arguably the best decade of music ever.  Cool

TBH I was kidding, it produced some amazing tracks, but it was the worse decade ver for music as social movement, and music DOES creat social movement.

The 50's the most influencial decade ever (not the 80's) gave us the teenager.
The 60's evolved from the teenager to the rocker, to the hippy.
The 70's gave us the prog rockers, the continuation of concept rock hippies, the punk and eventually the commercial variant of punk, newwave.
The 80's (new romantics aside) gave us fuck all but standard and often bloody good formulaic rock/pop.
The nineties and late eighties produced some of the dran finest pop / rock ever made in Britain to the extent it coined it's own phrase...britpop...it also saw the rise of underground soul dance. Acid House in the early 90's late 80's.
Tje naugties have produced the new rave as a movement, so far.

But AFAICS the 80's were the wrose decade for sciaio pop moevement ever tbh.

The thread is titled "A Series Discussion About 80's Music" though, not "A Series Discussion About 80's Hippyness". Ya bum.  tongue2

Well one of my mates gets called "Brains". His name is Brian, but in 3rd year at high school (age 15) he wrote "Brain McMillan" on a test paper.

Gives you an idea about the schooling over here...

Still makes me LOL.  laugh
