Creative released a new driver that supports Dolby Digital and DTS and "what you hear" feature. It had all those features in XP. I fecking hate my X-fi in Vista. It worked so well in XP and even with Alchemy, half the shit doesn't work right. I've been using tweaked drivers that act quirky with some games and I'm hoping like hell these will work right. I don't expect much with 7 being released as it's really a build off Vista.
Creative 2.18.0013

P.S. I'm posting this out of the sheer frustration I've had for this card after paying over $150USD and is still selling for $100. mad

Nice heads up mate.

But surely Vista users should have realised about a year ago that it was just shit    Wink

My X-fi card works fine..

Creative have always been the shittiest driver support company on the planet, the rule being ' if you can find one that works, don't change it!'

I use modified drivers just fine on Windows 7, barring the occasional Console Launcher crash (once a week)

Bearing in mind, Creative don't support 7 yet, and it's pencilled in on their roadmap somewhere between the London Olympics and when we discover the secret to long term sustainable Fusion, and will be installed by Santa.

I know that the next sound card I buy will not be Creative's.

To be honest, i've used some fruity combinations of OS and i've never really had much of a problem with Creative. I mean, apart from 7 which in their defence isn't even out yet, and the majority of their drivers do work for it for the X-Fi it seems alright. I've even used XP 64 bit and that even had working drivers!

They do make some very nice cards though, and i know some have had weird issues. I think Vista itself was the biggest issue, lol.
