Watched Casino Jack last night.
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1194417/
It was pretty good but probably would have been better if I'd been familiar with who Jack Abramoff was.

Finally got around to watching the Expendables. 1.5/5. Truly bad movie. No story line, poor editing. Fight scenes hard to follow. Horrible cliches over and over again. Atrocious acting.......If you haven't seen it, don't bother is my solid opinion.

I enjoyed Monsters too.

Do not expect Cloverfield (it was directed by the same guy iirc) and it is not a bad watch at all.

Completely disagree, it's a glorious 2010 homage to how shitely awesome the 1980s were.

Especially that shotgun scene.

Total tosh the whole way through, but I found it enjoyable none the less. I would rather watch that than The Other Guys. I'd rather have my eyeballs raped than watch The Other Guys again, that said.

Do not watch that movie. Do not get sucked in by good metacritic ratings. It is purely and totally awful. It is not funny in any way shape or form, you will come out feeling at least 5 years older, and notably sadder than when you went in. If you like the same joke that was shit the first time, at least five times, it's the film for you. The showing at the cinema felt like a funeral. I found Cop Out better, and that was supposedly massively shit too. At least I laughed in Cop Out.

Ok, that scene was cool. Stalone said something like "that thing is fucking loud"

See, this is where I tend to lose people... I'll keep with a film that has one single thing going for it. In the case of the Expendables, it had the "so bad it's good" and "more action than sticks can be thrown at" points.

I know plenty of people who love Tropic Thunder. I felt on the other hand, that the only decent jokes were in the actual trailer (so if you have not seen it, just watch the trailer). It didn't even fill the niche of so bad it's good. In fact, barring the trailer parts there were about five minutes of Tom Cruise in a fat suit. That was good. He was funny. The rest was utter cack.

Entertainment is all I am after, it can be through a few different ways... the curse, the killer for me is a film that is so devoid of any life that I become bored.

Matrix Sequels, X-Men 3, Shrek 3 (fell asleep), Tropic Thunder, The Other Guys, 30 Days of Night, Pirates of the Caribbean 3, and arguably 2... Spiderman 3. I don't hate all sequels, it's seemingly there is a phone in problem the more it goes on.

In a weird perverse way, I find some of the worst films made, the Uwe Boll ones, interesting. They are more a spectator event though, so you can laugh at it with friends. Same thing with comedy films like Mega Shark vs Giant Octopus.

^ I liked that movie..nice change of pace. smile

Anyhoo, watched The Tillman Story: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1568334/

Really nice of the US military plus Bush, Cheney and Rumsfeld to go to such lengths for a family after the death of their son in Afghanistan.

You know, to use the fact that he was an NFL Footballer to completely distort the circumstances of his death, attempt harass his wife into allowing them to give him a full bells & whistles military funeral against their wishes, then attempt to cover it up and slander the family when the truth started to appear...just so they could have a nice hero story that promoted their wars.  dry
