For The Glory: A Europa Universalis Game
I said I was not going to do another one of these as the amount of time you have to put in is amazing  Sad but saying that the tactical side of these games is also amazing... smile

& it is winter were it's nice to throw a log on the fire open a cold beer & play a nice slow strategy game....

I've always been intrigued by the series but never gone for it.  Mainly because I always presumed Civ4 would surpass it for turn based strategy and Empire would be a better option because of its sublime rts battle elements.

Am I really missing out?

Sorry mate missed this.....I loved Rome Total War & I enjoyed the Civ games to an extent but putting a tank against a pike-man got a bit strange.Empire is really good but once you get the right formula you can just steamroll you way to a win if you know what I mean.
EU is a lot slower & the graphics are shit compared to Empire but the game play is a lot more involved. Getting your economy working would tax Gorden Brown OK bad example laugh
If you like a slow game where you have to think out your strategy a good twenty years in advance then this game is the the dogs bollocks.
If when playing empire you were thinking were is the depth then try this I think it is about a £20 on steam but you can play the Europa Universalis III Complete Demo which will give you a good idea weather you would like it.

I'm playing King's Bounty: the Legend atm.  If you liked turnbased strategy like Heroes of Might and Magic it's a fun nostalgia game.  Think it's 15 euro on steam.  Singleplayer only tho :-)

I've got Kings Bounty, but didnt think it overly wonderful, which is a shame as I love turn based strategy.  Still, its there if I fancy it again and I also picked up Last Remnant for very little a few weeks ago.  That seemed, in the little I played to be more involving for me.

So may some year try For The Glory, but I am at the moment totally overrun with games to play.  This month will be taken up with ME1 & ME2, and then 26th Feb onwards for the majority of the year will be Napoleon.  Plus I still want to go back to Empire... spoilt I am.  Cool
