Omg Band of Brothers. I only saw it for the first time when Foxtel had it on a few months back. I didn't miss an episode. Brilliant series. Loved it from start to finish.

The frequent onset of blaring horns ruined it for me.  mellow

It was a like a musical version of someone behind the set suddenly holding up a placard with
"Feel Emotion Now!"
 written on it.  Wink
If it wasn't for that, it would probably have been quite good. Cool

you my friend are too critical.  It's a series, not a documentary.

What blaring horns? Where? Are you sure it wasn't the freeway diverted through your living room, Ctulu?

You miss my point entirely.

The music in any TV programme or movie is an essential part of the atmosphere, but with BoB they went way too far with the volume, regularity and repetitiveness, to the extent that I found it grated on my nerves.
At times it felt like I was watching a movie version of MOHAA.. Huh?

Horns
6 Music

   1. A wind instrument made of an animal horn.
   2. A brass wind instrument, such as a trombone or tuba.
   3. A French horn.
   4. A wind instrument, such as a trumpet or saxophone, used in a jazz band.
   5. A usually electrical signaling device that produces a loud resonant sound: an automobile horn.
   6. Any of various noisemakers operated by blowing or by squeezing a hollow rubber ball.

A new 10-part miniseries from the creators of Band of Brothers (Steven Spielberg, Tom Hanks, Gary Goetzman), called The Pacific, is in development. The new miniseries will focus on the Pacific Theater. The project is due out in 2009, although this is subject to change.

I must say I am not much aware of the pacific part and the war .... I should read about it some time.

My dad is kinda of a WWII afixiado (or how do you spell that)  and I remember a paticular book called literaly translated "The Book about the Camps".  The pictures in that book ........ paticular the experiments on twins, where they cut open parts of the body like a leg, stuffed it with cotton and other filth and sowed it back up in the hope to see if that would affect the other twin or something pervers like that ....

Something you dont easely forget if you accidently open the book you dad said "Do not touch that!".  Up till this day I can't force myself to actualy read it ...

LMAO.  What a peckehead. I liked BOB. I found the music helped to increase the intensity of the series. I have full on surround sound too, so I really heard the music. Sh*t, those half-tracks and tanks made the windows vibtrate. I want the series on DVD too, although I must have seen it 10 times. Cool
