Those were so beautiful.  I pulled our resident artist away from her wii game to come look.  Thanks for finding those and sharing!

My daughters's first use of a Wacom tablet and Corel. She has made some stuff in the few hours since that puts this to shame, but I haven't transferred it yet.
She's 12 and what kills me is her use and understanding of color in a program she's had 30 minutes to learn. More to follow.

it was today, 26/12/2009.  she just started practicing on the software.  Thing is, I keep trying to use s where a c belongs because i've picked up on y'alls way of spelling things and my spell check is going bonkers.

Sorry Hallcat for the late response. Your daughter has a real talent, i hope she sticks at it. I was into painting and drawing when i was young but just gave it up, i dont really know why.
I am going to start again as i need a hobby and painting is very relaxing and therapeutic.
