Well, the telling of jokes is an art of its own, and it always rises from some emotional threat. The best jokes are dangerous, and dangerous because they are in some way truthful.

“Forgiving does not erase the bitter past. A healed memory is not a deleted memory. Instead, forgiving what we cannot forget creates a new way to remember. We change the memory of our past into a hope for our future.”
Lewis B. Smedes quotes

To be able to move on, one has to learn to forgive not only the person (or people) who have done one wrong but also oneself ~ Eugenia Tripputi

“You build on failure. You use it as a stepping stone. Close the door on the past. You don't try to forget the mistakes, but you don't dwell on it. You don't let it have any of your energy, or any of your time, or any of your space.”
Johnny Cash quotes

Why do some people always see beautiful skies and grass and lovely flowers and incredible human beings, while others are hard-pressed to find anything or any place that is beautiful?
Leo Buscaglia

We need not be afraid to touch, to feel, to show emotion. The easiest thing in the world is to be what you are, what you feel.

With time, women gain weight because we accumulate so much information & wisdom in our heads that when there is no more room, it distributes out to the rest our bodies. So we aren't heavy , we are enormously cultured, educated & happy. Beginning today, when I look at my butt in the mirror I will think,... Good Grief~ look how smart I am! ~unkown

I wonder if it's possible to have a reasonably not stupid conversation using only quotes from known people.
This is not a quote but a musing. You can quote that.

One of the best quotes ever.

I've seen things you people wouldn't believe.
Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion.
I watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhauser gate.
All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain.
Time to die.

Cinematic brilliance.

Don't want to go OT but I've watched all the iterations of that film and I think the original is best. I wasn't fussed about the Final Director's Cut.

I've never seen Blade Runner blush.  Every time it's been on tv I've been off doing something else.
