I rarely played demos, but the few I did play were for games I was questionable on whether I was going to buy them or not. Some won me over and others failed. I think a company needs this tool for a part of their audience who won't buy with out a test drive. Wink

I still aquire demo's for games (even ones I don't think I'll buy) to have an hour or so of new gaming in between sessions of kill kill kill, dead, respawn etc.  Wink

PC demos appear to be a dying breed indeed.

The BFBC2 beta sold it for me, WoW was also bought on the back of the trial...and they eventually got a right few bob out of me. happy

I like to try before I buy, let's face it 30-40 bucks is a lot of money for what might be a pig in a poke. confused

The BC2 beta was bad news too though.

Get a beta if you pre-order ?

Well out of order.

Aye, it was a bit much.
You had the option to cancel though iirc.

I'm looking for a MW2 demo with no luck.
I want a new generation game demo to run on new high end machines I'm building. FPS preferably.

Little over the top, but Crysis demo. It isn't DX11, but it will defo stress a sytem. Ignore the Nvidia bit, they just have fast servers.

You could throw in Dirt 2 demo. A decent but punishing DX11 game demo.

There is also the new Alien vs. Predator demo which is supposed to be very well written for DX11 cards. It's no where near as resource hungry as Dirt 2. You can download it from Steam.(which I think you have already. scratchhead)

Over the last few days I've come to regret saying that. confused
