Modified catalyst drivers.

Works an absolute treat.

Make sure to read the installation instructions as it requires a registry entry in safe mode, so don't just run in like a bull in a china shop.

Also make sure Physx is uninstalled and that you use driver sweeper to clean your stsem of all ATI entries completely.

Choose custom installation and try out stream sdk 2.2. as well.  Seems to be speeding things up for me.

So what, in summary (I had no idea what the guy in your link was talking about), is the advantage over the latest Catalyst drivers?

It's probably worth it for the ATI Streaming alone. (You do lose the use of the CCC, and it's a bit tricky to install though)

In saying that, I'll probably revert back since I do have some issues with multiple diplays....bummer. confused

Your card will use sdk stream 2. Lighting effects are far more pronounced and actually look like what you see in the glossies Wink

Performance is finer tuned and you still get CCC. Just some of it's different but it provides the same options as before more or less.

I don't get the CCC at all, just an error message about CLI.Implementation.
Must be a bug.

Yup, must be something went wrong.

I get it.

Almost exactly the same with some variations of their own, over drive the lot is there, which is actually better as it starts off at your cards default, unlike the real one.

Overdrive usually starts at the defaults on mine (when it's working). scratchhead

The CLI problem is something to do with .NET Framework, apparently. I downloaded the MS Performance Toolkit (for the debugger utility) recently, so maybe I'm using a version of .NET that's different to the one this driver was written for. blush

Overdrive will start with your default settings but the slider will be enabled to underclock. Where as the slider on this version starts on your cards derfault.

Found this interesting article on ATI Stream with Flash 10.1
http://www.kitguru.net/components/graphic-cards/zardon/adobe-flash-player-10-1-ati-stream-catalyst-10-6/

I used the Demo Split Screen mode after applying the settings and there certainly seemed to be an improvement.
The Big Buck Bunny video has a full HD version here

Btw I'm just using the 10.8 Catalyst drivers with ATI Stream SDK 2.2.

I like that video. I downloaded the Stream driver thing. Not really sure what I can use it on.

Interestingly, that puts 5870+ users at around the Teraflops of the fastest computer available at the Millennium!

If it's officially from AMD (which the video says it is). AND it's for older cards as well. It's win win here. But I will wait until they release it completely. I am not in the mood for hacking the registery just yet. :/

I'm on cat 10.10a now with  sdk 2.2

http://sites.amd.com/us/game/downloads/Pages/radeon_win7-64.aspx

The new cats have a new AA feature that's a bit juicy.
Known as 'Morphological Anti-Aliasing' or MLAA  which will work on 5 series and 6 series HD Radeons.
