Does anyone know of a backdoor bios password for a MobilePro BIOS vERSION4.00.01

I have stripped this mother down to the motherboard, changed the cmos battery for a new one and the bloody thing still asks for a password.

It's going out the windy soon.

Laptop - Novatech - model - 8640

On a desktop you'd have a Clear CMOS/RTC jumper that resets the lot (usually).

On a laptop though it might just be a couple of solder points that have to be bridged.

P.S. It's a Mitac 8640 but others have branded it.
So you might get some mileage out of searching google using the other vendors names.

I'm just going to give them it back. It took me ages to dismantle and assemble, just to get at the battery. I'm not doing it again it's a pain in the ass.

I was doing it as a freebie, my friend found it in a skip, that's probably why it was there in the first place.  laugh
