Last night I was installing some new hardware and decided to pull my Arctic Cooling cooler. Artic Cooling Freezer Pro  This thing reviewed very well 3 years ago when I bought and posted stats with much more expensive coolers. They have to cut costs somewhere right? I found out where, the fecking plastic leg mounts. I had a bitch of a time getting it back on with out breaking them, fully aware of the reviews of where some people had. Anyways, I pulled it to lap it and put some aftermarket past (Arctic Silver 5)and drop the temps to enable cpu speed crank(Q6600 @2.4 stock). I'm now @ 3.4 stable, sitting @~stock cooler temps, which isn't bad consider the past hasn't cured yet. I may go higher. Not really sure I need to. I just don't want to choke out my 460GTX. Back on topic. What coolers are you other Intel fan boys using and what temps are you getting? I realize ahead of time Wooster that your I5  scratchhead tongue2 is cooler running and more OC friendly. Still, would anyone else post their cpu temps and clocks? I know I have last a last gen cpu, but I have yet to see any reason to upgrade as I don't see a big enough advantage yet. It still gets respect in the community. smile

That's the exact same HSF I have on my C2D mate.
It's factored at 2.66 but I've had it clocked at 3.4 almost since I bought it. It would go higher as the temps are well within the green zone but my memory (or mobo) let's me down.
It's a great cooler for the job it's supposed to do, shame about the legs.

I bought one of these cheap and cheerful jobs (It's basically exactly the same heatsink as yours)

Can't recall the temps off hand, but I think it was idling around 37c.

Try attaching a Scythe Infinity! dry

You can't see the pegs, and I can't actually not put it on inside the case. It fits, its just the support for the back of the case actually is obstructed by the heatpipes.

I'm using a 1366 socket Noctua dual fan job (cant recall the model number).  Swapped the fans out for Sharkoon silent eagles and now have it cooling an i7 @ 3.4 with hyper threading on (8 threads) 24/7 for over a year now.  So does the job well, but utterly silent at the same time. smile

Lolling at how some hardware manufacturers these days are right drama queens when it comes to naming their stuff.  Wink

i.e. a mouse pad called the Hypermutant Blackhole Eviscerator X12. happy

What I love about the Steel Series stuff, is that none of it is made of steel at all  laugh  Infact the steel series mouse mats are either the softest cloth you could imagine or glass.  I mean wtf?  How do these marketing guys do this stuff!?  scratchhead

It doesn't even really make sense on an exclusive level.

The exclusivity of ... steel.

At least Creative got... erm, Creative with the X-Fi Titanium. Course, they do lose points for going into a Creative meeting and coming out with Creative. And calling something that essentially Blasts Sound out, a Sound Blaster, and then following the gamer bandwagon sticking an X in it, somewhere.

At least they came out with Fi.

Which was probably the marketing womans name.

Razer have to be the worst out of the lot.

I have a RAZER IMPERATOR!! eleventy1 but I'd have be happy if it was called the Razer Slidey Thumb Button Mouse, because that's the only reason I bought it.

And another thing, why TF do they keep calling them after snakes? Snakes eat mice ffs!  orly

Btw, I'm going to have to get me one of those Enemy Fucker Mk1's..they look cool as fuck!  Cool Cool
