Yesterday I bought my daughter an
Alpine 64 Pro thinking I would crank up the heat on her x2 3800+. It was sufficient for her until I threw my 8800GT in there. I changed out her psu for a OCZ 550 and had every intention of cranking the cpu up. A while back, I'd had it up to 2.4 form 2.0 with no prob(prime 95 verified)except it ran a little hot so I turned it down. I thought that I'd do the same + more since it seemed to be able to handle the bump in frequency well.

I just now remembered that one of the OCZ memory sticks had failed and I just bought her some
Kingston value ram, with absolutely no heat dissipation ability. I don't think I'll get far. Sigh. At least her cpu will run cooler.
We need to have an emoticon for smacking head on desk.
