Every morning and evening going home, everyfingwhere. Regarding what? Letting people out. I understand you can't let everyone out as you're going down the road, but when you can't go anywhere because there is traffic in front and only one or two cars want to come out, let them out. Especially when they are going across the road, they can be causing a jam the other way. I drive down the road and anyone I see, if I can, I let them out. I'll drive down, slow down only slightly, timing it so they can pop out. Costs me a few seconds, nothing more. Worse still is emergency vehicles. Other day there was a fire engine no lights on yet no fucker was letting it go. I did. Same with the critical care car that no one was letting go. It takes a few seconds out of your journey, so don't know why people do it. Also note when people do it at traffic lights. They do it near me and there is a communal driveway near the lights. People come out to join the lights or need to cross. There is no keep clear sign. But people aren't going anywhere, they are waiting for the fucking lights but they creep forward if they see a car wanting to come out so they don't have to let them out. Arseholes. I do remember in my driving test coming up to a set of lights where a car was coming out of a drive or parking bay and I was coming up to some lights. Lucky for me the lights were changing to orange and I could carry on (wasn't confident to let people out then). After passed test I was told it could of been different. If the lights had stayed red, I would of probably failed due to causing and un-necessary obstruction (not letting the car out). So, when they do it at the lights near me, they appear to be technically breaking the highway code by causing an un-necessary obstruction. Only slight problem. I flashed a car the other day coming out of a garage. It wasn't coming so carried on bit slowly, then got closer. It wasn't going cause no one was in it

A few years ago I was travelling from Kidderminster to Worcester & let every person who wanted to come into or across my lane. Until I got to Gheluvelt park where I got delayed by the traffic lights I was always ended up behind the same car I'd been behind from Kidderminster because people I'd let in had turned off again.
I had lost no time at all by being polite.

It works both ways. I often let the odd car out of junctions. It's annoying when people don't - even when the car is turning the opposite way anyway. On the other hand of course, it's also annoying if the car in front of you stops and decides to let 20 successive cars out of a junction. If every other person let someone out. Both sets of traffic would keep moving nicely and everyone would get to where they need to go.
Saying that. Lack of indicating annoys me even more - especially at roundabouts where you see someone coming towards you, so you give way. Only for the selfish fucker to turn off before he gets to you without signalling. If he had bothered to just press that little tiny indicator stalk, I'd have known he was turning off and would have known that it was free for me to go. Instead, you end up sitting there and giving way to fresh air. Grrr!

It wasn't going cause no one was in it I agree with some of your points, but if there is no blue lights on the emergency vehicles, you don't have to let them pass, it is up to the driver whether they let them pass...they could get in trouble if they cause an accident while doing so Though there are drivers who clearly see blue lights yet for some inexplicable reason pull out and block the oncoming ambulances so much they have to swerve around the stupid drivers, that is the people you should have your angst against. Not against the drivers who are not letting the vehicles go pass them in non-emergencies I do not like drivers of mercedes, bmw and other big cars like volvos, because they don't have the politeness on the roads that should be afforded to everyone. They drive with the egos and their 'safe' cars. Though I am not tarring the same brush with every drivers with the aforementioned cars.

I tend to be a curious mix of patient and impatient when driving. I'll let people out, even sometimes down resi roads letting people through when I actually have right of way with parked cars, and let people out just by lifting off the accelerator a bit. Course, I get very impatient with people who do not get into the left lane, and hog outer lanes... I do undertake if they persist. The amount of people who think the M4 is a two lane motorway beggars belief. I'm also the first person to go when the old roundabout conundrum takes hold, and by that I mean, three people turn up to a three entrance roundabout, at the same time. Who has right of way. Easy answer, me. As I'll be on the mini roadabout long before anyone else gets a chance to think about going (as soon as everyone is nearly stopped, I've gone), and I've done everyone a favour... as likely less time was wasted than someone slowly deciding they have the cajones to go.
I know someone who actually sped up to help an ambulance down narrowish country roads... It would have been impossible for the ambulance to pass, but he didn't want to slow the ambulance down. They thanked him as they went past, when he found a place to pull in.
Some people get scared by the Blue Flashies and lose their complete thought process. I just find the nearest gap, or place to make the largest gap for the vehicle to pass and go there, and in the situation of an impossible pass, I would do the same thing.

I agree with some of your points, but if there is no blue lights on the emergency vehicles, you don't have to let them pass, it is up to the driver whether they let them pass...they could get in trouble if they cause an accident while doing so I think he was meaning the letting out of such vehicles at junctions. You're in slow moving traffic, there's an emergency service vehicle stuck at a junction ahead (admittedly with no lights on) and nobody lets the vehicle out. Not wrong, but not exactly courteous driving either.

The problem with letting people out is that in the rush hour it gets way out of hand. Imagine the main road is at a standstill for a half mile because of traffic lights, as happens on the North Road in Doncaster. There are estates on either side but traffic isn't allowed to cross from the right hand estate to turn right so they're not a problem. The problem is the traffic waiting to get on from the left. Here's the point. In a half mile queue, if everyone let one car in from the left those at the end of the queue on the main road simply don't get to move at all. Their place is taken by the estate cars being let in. Google map: http://tinyurl.com/2d3f5kvAt the junction of the A635 and the B1396 there are major traffic lights, always have been. The A635 carries all the cars from south of Doncaster into town. In the morning rush hour and a half there is often a half to 3/4-mile queue and those at the end get legitimately cross because the estate cars (pun not intended) have another way round that won't clog the road up as much, but it's a bit longer. Thus: in a traffic jam for every single car you let in you piss off a hundred drivers behind you.

Speaking of traffic lights, why do they put them on traffic islands? If you are turning right you should be in the right hand lane & change lanes as you go round the island, but the lights stop the traffic so you can't merge naturally. Don't start me on islands where you are pushed into the wrong lane by the lane markings.

I just can't be arsed with people who think 40 is acceptable in a 60 zone and 40 is acceptable in a 30 zone and 40 is the only fucking number on their dial.
That and arse holes who pull out in front of you when you're on the main vein and they enter from a connecting road. Okay that doesn't bother me, but it does when they pull out and don;t get up to fucking speed forcing me to adjust my speed when it;s their fault they pulled out when it clearly wasn't safe as forcing someone to brake when joining is serious point against during a driving test.
RANT!!!!
Oh yes...
What about idiot SERIOUS idiots who do not know how to join a motorway ?
Get up to speed you fucking cretins...join the flow at the flows speed. Not slowly and cagely at 40 (there it is again 40 the arsehole of driving speeds) and whilst at it, do not just follow the white line to your left...if you can have a suitable gap to your right, JOIN THE FUCKING FLOW! Don't just follow the lines on the left like some sort of stupid fecking line guided robot!
RANT !!!!!!!

What I hate is having to drive on the A9. http://www.thesun.co.uk/scotsol/homepage/news/3193413/Three-die-in-carnage.htmlAccording to the figures there's about 250 accidents on it every year. Take out Saturdays and Sundays and that's practically one a day.

That line gave me a chuckle I was having a moan about the exact same thing not 3 hours ago. I was once in the car with a member of C.L.O.C. (centre lane owners club) when asked why she was driving in the middle (over taking) lane when the left lane was empty, I got told it was so that she did not get confused and took the wrong slip off . That was the point she was politly told to get the hell in the correct lane and learn to drive.

I was on the way home from work today. Heading down a one way system with two lanes, I am on the right hand lane. In the adjacent lane is a thick stupid pig shit woman who decided not to bother checking her mirror before swinging way out to her right so she could park in a tight space to her left. I was lucky enough not have any parked cars to my right and just managed to squeeze enough room between the kerb and my car to avoid the crazy fucking stupid hopeless arehole. With no cars behind me I stopped peeped the horn, stupid fucking thick as hit woman with an ugly face and huge nose turns round looks at me bewildered and oblivious to the accident she just almost caused and that I averted. I felt my blood boil and decided it was best to just drive away and not let her know exactly how I felt.
Funnily enough the drive home after that was unusualy not congested and not start stop, start stop, start stop.
