'An how faust kin it ging?'

« on: October 26, 2010, 10:24:25 AM »

I'm not a conspiracy theory nut, but I have to wonder.

Iraq has been turned into a Jihadi breeding ground, Afghanistan isn't much better, northern Pakistan is going that way, so is Yemen and possibly Sudan and Somalia (not counting Saudi Arabia and some others).
We've been investing in new attack subs, aircraft carriers and possibly the next gen nukes.
We are beginning to arm even more police and training them for a different kind of response.

So is this all an accident, bad management...or do some people know how things are planned to pan out in the long term.
Is Islam being manipulated into becoming the new Nazism?
Do the weapons manufacturers (and their political puppets) fear peace and consider anything fair game to maintain sales?
Are they in cahoots with Big Oil?

All these questions and many more will be answered in the 23rd century edition of World History (if there's anyone around to make it)

I think there is almost a zero chance of a nuclear war. Nobody would win though we'd win better than they would... as it were.

The one thing that is really of some slight concern to me in this regard is this missile:

The Sizzler. It has one aim, to take out the big US aircraft carriers. There is currently no defence against it. Now, if one of those was sunk with great loss of life the US would react in a major way. There is no other response; the US public would riot if no meaningful response was made.
Thus, since nuclear is not really an option that could mean using daisy cutters on the city nearest the missile launch site. Or Tehran.
That in turn will pit the Russian against the Chinese against the US. The French and Germans would declare neutrality and we'd shit ourselves.

All that's going on is the nuttier element of Islam that hates us has found it's place in the daily press because of 9/11. As such it seemingly  perpetuates their rhetoric further afield brining the ethos of Islam being a nation closer to actuality.
Conspiracy theorists don't think they're conspiracy theorists which makes you a conspiracy theorist.

No, I'm pretty certain St John had never imagined in his wildest dreams anything more complicated than a potter's wheel.

Wasn't the 'Revelations' John an exiled dissident who went a bit mad on a Greek Island and wrote a book that's basically the best rant ever?

Yes, but it isn't Revelations, it is actually the Revelation. In it some say that the aftereffects of a nuclear war are described.

Yes you are right about that. However that book does make facinating reading. The number of the beast and all that.

Indeed I have. Cover to cover. I own three copies for various reasons. None of which detract from my point above, small though that is.

Did you know that there are cranks out there actively trying to set the whole thing off?
Some American Christian Fundamentalists give cash handouts to Israeli's if they keep up with the disputed settlement building program, because they think that's where the final battle will take place and this activity will spark the whole thing off.
(There's also that other nutter trying to drill wells from Israel and along into neighbouring countries for the same reason).
Anyhoo, once Armageddon is achieved they think that they'll all be taken up in The Rapture (a modern bit of bullshit) while the rest of us suffer hell on earth...or something. nowink
