That's a TN panel mate you could be  limited with viewing angles and it may not display the full 24bit but colour pallet your graphics card is capable of.

Research the monitor before committing to it as I'm sure IPS monitors etc these days have response times making them worthy of consideration, but they may still be in the expensive market.
Not sure though, I'm well out of touch right now as I've not had the need to look in to these things.

Just want you to make sure you're getting the best for the budget you're on.

Looks good. Only problem I have with it is that its a 16:9 aspect ratio screen. It's unfortunate that so many companies these days are mainly only making these as 16:9 is a far inferior aspect ratio to 16:10 when it comes to monitors. It's just too squashed and lacking in height I find and you tend to end up having to scroll all the time as a result. Like I say, a pity, but alternatives are limited these days.

<hugs the 16:10 monitors he has at both work and home>

It depends on your needs really. I have a 16:10 monitor at work (1920x1200) which is perfect since I use it mostly for coding/reading the net etc.

At home I have a 16:9 since I primarily use that for watching TV/Movies and 16:9 quite often means no letterboxing on movies!

I take it you mean't 16:9 for home?  Wink

For me I dont mind which one prefers, aslong as games incorporate correct fov for both - which they tend to unless its a shoddy console port, in which case neither are catered for.  But if one became a standard, then I'm happy for it to be 16:9 as thats what movies and hdtv's are and my pc is in the lounge...

Don't get me wrong, 16:9 is great for films and reasonable for games. However I also do a lot of web browsing and other bits of work as well. Hence I find that 16:9 is a considerably worse aspect ratio for these tasks. You do get a bit of letterboxing when watching 16:9 stuff on a 16:10 screen, but on my 27.5" monitor, it adds maybe an inch to the top and bottom (which isn't that bad). And of course with a 16:9 screen, that problem is only solved because those bits of screen don't even physically exist in the first place smile
