Laura Marling with Mumford & Sons

For fear of attracting attention to my beard, I'll mention nothing about how she is so good at the old 'folky' type stuff, but it's worth a look.. Wink
(there are links to the whole set at the end)

-edit-
Female, blonde, very much ..well, make your own mind up. Wink

That one sounds a bit like Donovan's old stuff, dinnit? Cool

Ahh, I came across Laura Marling months back through the Mumford And Sons connection, she ain't bad at all.  Think she comes across as really dour though.  I'd choose Mumford over her anyday, think they are amazing, so much so I tried very hard to get tickets for their gig in Glasgow last month but couldn't get them for love nor money Sad Next time though Wink  Their album is like a breath of fresh air.  Well it is compared to some of the musicians I listen to...I'll say it before one of you do  Bite me

They all sound good but I'm not sure if it's folk music, maybe in a few years when everybody sings these songs while walking down to the pub.

Mumford & Sons are a bit on the preachy side (burn in the everlasting flames of the God that you denied type of thing), can't fault them for putting a good tune together though. Cool

It's a brilliant album, totally different to the rock I normally listen to.  It impressed me enough to try to get tickets for their gig in Glasgow.

I really like their album.

I have however not really listened to a single lyric. I tend to be more about the tune. Plebeian, that I am.

Oh bite me!!  Tongue

After seeing them up close in the flesh I can confirm that they are definitely all men although Jared in the flesh is far too thin for his own good.  He reminded me of Chad Kroeger from Nickelback who looks pretty healthy on screen but when you see him in the flesh he is a stick insect.  Still hot as hell though with beautiful eyes, Jared, not Chad, although Chad ain't half bad either when I think about it scratchhead laugh.  We will just have to agree to differ on the musical aspect.  Mind you, when do we ever do anything else but disagree nephew?  laugh innocent
