Is the country heading for mass riots ?

I'm not an advocate for violence and this went to far but I can see their pov.

Was watching it today and Roffled when a huge cheer went up as they got the doors open and flooded in.. tongue2
They've kicked the arse out of it a bit though.  Wink
Worth noting that the measures won't affect anyone protesting today, they're doing it for the next batch of students.

Btw..the BBC were full of it.
I'd had enough of their sensationalist crap this morning when they dusted down the old video game scaremongering clichés on the back of the Black Ops release.

Well it's not like the Tories aren't known for inciting widespread public disorder.
Conservatism and riots go hand in hand.

Thing is, they're also going to hamstring the Cops with budget cuts.

It makes you wonder if they've actually stopped to consider the consequences of their actions, but when you reflect on them scrapping the Harrier fleet, despite the fact that it'll leave us with two brand new Aircraft Carriers with no bloody planes to put on them, it appears that the answer is obviously not.

What they don't say on the news is that most universities are looking to cut lecturers positions so these kids will be paying all that money & have no one to teach them.

The average student debt after leaving will be about 50k & they say that it wont put people off going......Bullshit if your working class.

To be honest, I'm not sure I'd take that gamble, I'm one of those dirty middle England southerners you hear about ;p

Is the degree going to pay for 3 years of potential lost earnings, so say even conservatively £100k.

From a BBC site.....

Which has left me wondering whether the police weren't actually staging their own protest against the cuts , by making sure that this particular demonstration was completely under-policed. Just to make sure everybody knows what can happen when you cut police numbers....

Maybe....

Nice conspiracy but a good one smile

I was young, a kid in the 80s but saw the poll tax riots on TV.  Didn't really understand it.  But now seeing this I've come to the conclusion that when the Tories are in power, everyone riots.

I only did a year at Uni' on 2nd year HND course.  Cost me £3k.  Still ain't paid it off 10 years later.  I certainly wouldn't of gone if it would of cost me £9k.

Conservatism is quite a hard line ideology , so they don;t tend to listen to reason (unless it's branded private sector or old school boy) so I reckon it's only natural that riots go hand in  hand with it as it's the only way to make them aware.

I'd riot to an extent, like I would probably pop a balloon in front of a copper or flash my arse at some political dignitary.

Quote
The new system will mostly be administered through the internet, with people expected to make claims online and check their payments like they would an online bank account - even though an estimated 1.5 million unemployed people do not currently have internet access, according to government figures. The DWP says a "minority" of cases will still be dealt with face-to-face

 nowink

In other words they don't care as long as they get their plan in to place.
