Its out & it is,  in a word "Awesome"  the level zero stuff is a bit slow but when it gets going this is the best racer today . 10 / 10

Don't mean to shoot you down or anything, it may be released as 'The real Driving Simulator' but the truth is Turn10 have put out 2 real driving sims in the time it's taken Polyphony to release a visually pretty racer. Every GT game has always been plagued with the same problems with things like uber long loading screens, unbalanced graphic detail (i.e an aston martin will have more detail than a BMW) as well as dreaful AI. Don't get me wrong, GT games of old were good fun but I think that 10/10 statement you just gave it might be a bit too much too soon. Pretty graphics don't make up for every other shortfall it has.  Wink

Not at all everyone is entitled to their un-bias opinions, it ain't that pretty actually its a jap game & its like pro evo, still taking 5 years to make a game is NOT a bad thing theres 1000 cars in this with F1,Rally,Nascar, even go-karting so its possible your PS1 qualms have been sorted but, you will never know?  innocent

Apparently the same problems are still there, and I did play the PS2 releases as well. The thing is, for all of the novelties they've thrown in (go karting for instance) they still haven't managed to fix the problems that we've all encountered in the preceding releases. 5 years to design and release a game and there are still problems? Screams out too much attention to detail and not enough to the fundamentals.  confused

GT games will always carry a massive user and fan base, if they put a jobbie with wheels on  a track and called it a 'real time jobbie weecher driving simulator' it would still sell in multitudes.

However they are decent games there's no denying.
And there is no denying that Turn10/Ten-Tacle have made some gems on both PC and 360 too equating GT, besting is a matter of opinion.

I'd take a free copy of GT5 put it that way  happy

I'm not suggesting one is better than the other, I'm just emphasising the point that GT games are much over-rated as there are plenty of 'as good as' racers out there which get a fraction of the publicity, I mean half of the people who buy this in the UK will buy it because it has Top Gear's Dunsfold circuit....gimmick?  tongue2

At the end of the day, it's a racer. It's not any different from the last and probably won't be any different from the next. What we need is a new F-Zero to break away from the monotony of motorsport releases, something revolutionary. smile

I'm a massive top gear fan, and doing the hook of driving the top gear test track is to be honest a very appealing one. In fact, I'd still be considering it as a purchase... if it was just the car list + only top gear track drivable.

Hopefully there is a mode where you can do a standing start blast round the track... and there is a Chevrolet Lacetti, a Suzuki Liana and a Kia Cee'd :P

I don't even own a PS3 either, or played GT since the first... i'm thinking that i'd pay a reasonable fee for a hardware blu-ray player and a Top Gear test track game.... £269 atm for the bundle...

Oh, for the record you pretty much could replace GT with MW2 and this thread would still largely make sense Wink

GT5 mate.

F1 2010 is way to stringent with its rules.

Although F1 2010 is a great way to familiarise yourself with the tracks if you follow F1.
