I reckon the TV ads should all be banned for lying.

They all claim to alleviate symptoms through their own special blends of chemicals and shit. when the only real medicinal benefit is the paracetamol or ibuprofen they all contain to help lower the body temp.

For some reason the cold remedies annoy me lots as they prey on the placebo effect, which coincedantly it is illegal  to knowingly administer a placebo as a bonfide solution IE not a clinical trial etc.
 So why should these mega market brands get away with it ?

They should be made tell folks...the only proven active ingredient is the paracetamol/ibuprofen.

I love the 'makes skin look viably younger' and the 'taughtens skin' adverts! What a load of bullshit. In fact iirc I watched a documentary regarding false advertising in the UK and believe it or not those claims made by Ulay and the likes are NOT allowed in the USA (yes the USA) because they are not true!

As with cold and flu remedies I agree keasy. Honey, Lemon and Paracetamol topped with a couple of ibuprofen and your as good as sorted!

I never use those remedies myself, I'm a firm believer in the two Brufen and a power wank method.. although these day I substitute the Brufen for a couple of co-codamol.
