If he's changed his ISP then his old account is fucked, innit?

He needs to run through the setup again.

Why would changing ISP fook up an account ?

Log in and password should be sufficient :/

Unless PSN has some strange clause/settings, I dunno.

I think the accounts get locked down to the IP they were registered from by default. I'm sure there will be a wee program you can run through it and keep your account though... Wink

What?
I'm glad I'm "PC". This entire thing (the games industry) is ridiculous.

I'm glad, it can't use IP as credential anyway as almost everyone is on a dynamic IP.

I was sure my brother had a problem with IP adresses on his account....He could access his account here but whenever he took his PS3 elsewhere it wouldn't work. So he's got an account for here and for when he's at my gran's. I don't know much about it though so I might be wrong.

Every time he takes it to another house he'd have to run through the network setup on it again in order for it to pick up a valid LAN IP address at that location.

Different routers can allocate different ranges of IP addresses on the LAN, so what works in one house (i.e 192.168.0.x) won't necessarily work at another since it might be set to allocate LAN IP addresses on a different range. (i.e. 192.160.100.x).

As Keasy said, the account shouldn't be locked to a particular IP address for two reasons.
1. The Modem's IP is usually dynamic
2. The IP address it'll pick up on the LAN can change more often that the dynamic IP the ISP gives the modem.
