This is the problem with networking equipment.
I buy homeplugs, and think done.
Was thinking, hmm... 13mbit is a bit slow considering how close we are to the exchange.
Bought a gigabit switch.
Bought a miles too long cat6 cable, and a crimping tool
Now thinking, wireless signal for my phone is pretty crap down there... I could get an access point and attach that to the switch!!
Also need to quiz housemates about the router... need the settings... it's using WEP for a start! THIS MUST CHANGE!!!
I'll probably have a patch panel by the end of the week :\
