Customer has an adsl modem and a wifi adsl modem which is supposed to be acting as a wifi router.
Anyway, I can't get more than one laptop to connect to the net on wifi at the same time. No mac address filter setup but I did notice that both his laptops are listed in the dhcp table.
I can't seem to find where a setting might exist which only allows one connection to the net. He needs it for his cafe so customers can use it.
All devices find the wlan and wep keys have been entered.
I'm still on a learning curve with this type of stuff especially as they all have very different interfaces.

Why is he using two modems?

Anyhoo, is it running in Mixed Mode (802.11g/n) or have any 'range boosting' stuff turned on?
If one can't connect on that mode, it might get locked out until laptop 1 has disconnected and the router can change mode to suit.

Because the phone company installed the initial adsl modem that wasn't wifi capable and then they sent him a wifi adsl modem presumably because they don't do wifi routers.
But I do, so i'm going to get him to buy one from me.
The wifi modem has mixed b + g enabled.

No comprende.
A WiFi ADSL Modem is a WiFi Router by any other name, with the addition of a built in modem.

Wooster mate, this is an area in which I need to do more homework, quite clearly.

Once you get beyond the different GUI's on the home kit you realise they're all pretty similar.  Cool

The pro kit is a different ballgame though. confused
