THEY'VE RENDERED A REAL SONIC AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!

Real as in, 80's fat Sonic... not in the screenshots though, but I live in hope fat Sonic will live again.

Hopefully, unlike Sonic 4 Episode I, they will sort out the inertia, because Sonic stops like he's dropped an anchor.

You'll be able to play the entire game from a 2D perspective, like the ancient Mega Drive cartridges where Sonic debuted, or in 3D like the character's more recent incarnations.

Quote
You can even choose which type of Sonic to play as -- the hip, 21st century hero with spindly legs and a spoonful of attitude, or the more plump, cutesie Sonic from 1991.

DON'T FUCK UP THE PHYSICS!!!!!!

Best Sonic related news I've seen in a lonnnnng time.

To be honest, by the Sonic history in the last fifteen years it's a fairly fair assumption.

It's like they've almost started learning how to make a Sonic again... I mean it took them ten years but the entire gaming world saying "SONIC DOES NOT WORK IN 3D" seems to be setting in.

Fighting games and Platformers... 2D man, should always be.

I agree overall with the odd exception!  Some are pure magic in 3d:  Super Mario Galaxy is a great game!

True, most are total trash. Mario is about the only one who has survived 2D to 3D. Sonic was always too fast though to ever transition into a proper 3D game.

I think of Generations, probably the old Sonic bit will be the better bit... I can't help but thinking if you have control of that extra plane in Sonic you start running in to wall bump problems...

I had Zool on the AMIGA.
It was shit.

Seriously it was a last ditch attempt at keeping up with the 16 bit gen consoles and their figurehead characters, like Mario and Sonic in particular. To me it proved the AMIGA had eventually passed its sell by date.

Zool, James Pond and the Zina Sisters (iirc) were in my most played amiga games.

Along with Wings (that game rocked) but obviously not a platformer.
