Couldn't think of a better title.

Watching the Beeb news tonight and they were talking about Libya and the use of cluster bombs.
Gaddafi has been using cluster bombs they said, illegal and banned in over 100 countries. One rebel was holding a bomblet in his hand as means of apparent proof.


I thought...wait a moment...surely cluster bombs aren't banned... ?

As anti personnel weapons yes, but as strategic weapons no ?

Aren't cluster bombs with retarded parachuted  drop bomblets the number one strategic weapon of choice as runway cratering systems ?

Am I wrong (without googling it myself ) or right or are the BBC just using (as Charlie Brooker would point out) drama as part of their reportage ?

If Gaddafi has any ordinance left, it's probably the stuff with rat shit on it stored in the cellar that's been drug out. There might be a good probability that some of it has been banned since that old shit was moth balled.
