Last few times I've shutdown my computer, I've been told I have an update to apply. At the next reboot, it takes a flipping age to turn on. It sits on the "applying updates, please don't turn me off" stylee screen for ages, around 5-10 minutes. After this, it does eventually bring in the log in screen.

At the next reboot it tells me I have patches still to apply. I've always kept it up to date (it always downloads patches and lets me know when I have them to install), but it seems this one isn't sticking. Anyone else had similar issues? I imagine I'll have to chase down which patch it is and chase from there.

Not bothered about it so I ignore it. Wink

Ahh... that could well be SP1 actually... it was chatting up SP1 the other week in Windows Update. I can't ignore it at the moment though, it seems stuck in a loop of slow =[

I had 4 updates messing about like that for a few days, I installed SP1 & had no problem.

After I typed the above line I looked at "Start" & shutdown shows update awaiting installation.

Oh well maybe Microsoft will sort it some time this year.

Forced the updates earlier, and SP1... last reboot was alright. Maybe it was an update that required SP1. In which case, why didn't it warn me!!!!

^^^ Totally agree.

Last update seems to have taken, just one update not the previous four.
