I had 3 2GB sticks of Corsair XMS3 DDR3 TR3X6G1600C9 running fine giving me 6GB.

However, I run a lot of VMs on my machine for testing and was running low of RAM all the time, so brought another of the above as it's cheap.  Stuck it in the P6T mobo (now realise it's shit) and it's only seeing 8GB.

Reading the manual it appears it only supports 3 sticks at 1600mhz.  Others have reported they took one stick out and it went to 10GB.  I want all the 12GB.  I read this post

http://www.ocztechnologyforum.com/forum/showthread.php?49948-Trouble-with-12GB-in-ASUS-P6T-Deluxe-at-1600mhz

but never having OC before I know nothing about QPI voltages and memory multipler's.  I can see the QPI in the bios but not the memory multi's.

Any ideas?

You didn't check the manual?
Can you run it at a slower speed? AFAIK anything above 1033 is an "unofficial" or unsupported speed rating for the chips anyhow (Or is that only 2000hz? it's a year since I checked). You also will not notice the speed difference.
Some  boards now don't support full amounts of particular brands let alone certain speeds!

Online store just sent me Single Sided ram!?!?!?! So I now have the same problem as you. I have double sided installed, and got an extra stick to increase it. But either the motherboard does not like mixing the two types, or does not fully support the single sided.
No crash yet on one stick of either. But get BSOD on occasion with both.

Best of all? I cannot specify/choose single or double when ordering. So I cannot even ask for an older/compatible chip, as they all have the same ref number (even from manufacture). Sad  mad

Seeing if a bios update will fix it. Oh, and I've only got 4gb. :P

Seems ok now.  laugh
It's been constant stressful scares all week. The pc, the car.  pinch
Got a Zalman cooler too, is silky smooth, and seems cooler at the least. Although my OC'ing will probably be too much for it to keep the CPU down to what I want. 3.5 GHZ, 4 core Phenny 2, on 125w (or is it more with the extra core?). Seems stable at 3.0ghz. A bit late in the day for me to try anything else.
