Both made by Slimware and they're free. One program is Slimdriver. http://www.slimwareutilities.com/index.php (I linked to their home page)  It's a cloud based driver updater that runs off of oem drivers and reviews. It scans your system and uploads a snap shot of your hardware and compares it against other profiles for stability issues and/or known good working driver combos. They ask for feed back from IT and field repair techs and use that to assemble the driver package for your pc that will cause little or no grief, with the emphasis on speed, stability and latest version. It's a tool that meant to run a a maintenance package to keep your pc up to date, especially if you change components so that it can warn you of conflicts. My only complaint that I have ( and since it's free, I can't really complain) is that you can't automate the process on new installs. As much work as I do on the side, this is bad ass software. I can do the os install, then install LogMeIn and finish all the up dates while working on another pc at my desk. The also have a pretty decent program that automates removing of all the bloatware off of store bought pc's, but I don't use that as much as SlimDriver. Just passing along the info. It may help to flesh out your tool bag if nothing else.

I'll defo give this a go Therm.
I've got a prime example that it may help with: A biostar mobo (gf8200c m2+ v6.0), clean xp install, chipset drivers etc installed, but it will not finish the LAN driver install, saying that i need to install the pcie card to finish the driver install even though the lan port is integrated on mobo scratchhead scratchhead
Doing my head in that one, so I'll have to put a pci lan card in temporarily.

If Slimware doesn't work, you can try Driverpacks. You may already have already been there. If not, go to Driverpacks.net and download driverpack.lan 11.01. You'll find drivers for most everything else there also. Before Slimware, they saved my arse a time or two, and may do it again. BTW, I'm curious what you use to clean pc's that are too infected to use normal spyware/malware removal tools? Have you had to use Unhide.exe yet?

If it gets to that point where even the best progs won't remove or clean, I have to bite the bullet and reformat checking first with the customer about backups, which no doubt may take the virus with it.
In the past I've spent days on one PC for that reason.

Thanks Therm very much!!
Slimdriver did the trick where the Biostar website couldn't.
Lan port working as it should, using an Nvidia driver even though it's a Realtek RTL 8201CL PHY, but needs an Nvidia chipset driver.
What is it with some fucking mobo manufacturers? The driver they provide doesn't come anywhere near close.
Thanks again and it will be part of my tool bag!

Used Skimware again today on a laptop, where the Acer drivers simply wouldn't play fair.
Now sorted smile
However, why do laptop manufactures put a Bluetooth switch/led on the machine, when in fact the module IS NOT physically installed? scratchhead scratchhead
