I read something and I can't find where again about Monaco.
Monaco is under the defence realm of France and is a constitutionally recognised Monarchist state of France, a principality.

But if the leading/ruling monarch doesn't bear a son then Monaco will switch to complete control of France and effectively disband as a principality.

Can anyone find a website related to this ?
I find it incredible as it's not the kind of thing we imagine happening to an established state these in the west these days.

Adoption is now ruled out, and the succession passes, upon death or abdication, to the direct legitimate descent of the previous prince, failing which to his siblings and their descent,

This is no longer the case apparently .

Thus the throne can now pass from Albert II to his sisters and their children. The new law, however, restricts succession to persons holding Monegasque citizenship at the time of the demise of the previous prince.
