If you care to do so , post up what AV/malware you are using. I'm not super constricted or locked down. I use Avast and SAS with SandboxIE. Seems to keep me clean. SandboxIE is the best defender, but recently exploits out there have been found. I don't surf porn much, if ever. Sooooooo, post up what you guys are using.

I'm using Nod32 with the router firewall and Windows firewall. Safe as houses.

MSE on my main machine at home and the one at work. It has blocked numerous threats successfully. But from a work point of view, I've recently had to deal with some weird ones like the XP Restore virus dressed up as AV as well as AV Security suite amongst others. MBM is excellent at removing these. It makes me wonder how Luis Villazon of PC Format manages without AV. He says he doesn't believe in them.

MSE on the works laptops with the odd scan with MBAM when I remember. NOD32 on the main and just the router SPI firewall enabled (the windows one is a restrictive pain in the arse).

Got norton 360 for free when i bought the laptop so when that expires im going to go with MSE, theres a firewall on the router and obviously windows but id be interested in something else.
Louis is strange enough not to have his machine connected to the internet at all, maybe thats how he does it?

MSE and windows firewall as well as the routers firewall and I surf for a lot of porn and I've had any probs for many a year, even when I was running with AVG I cant remember anything to be concerned about. I usually try to run a scan every month or so with Malware bytes or spybot search and destroy just to see if they pick anything up that may have been missed.

Anti-vir is usually turned on with Spybot &\or Ad-Aware run if I've been of piste. Malwarebytes Anti-Malware if the machine seems weird. The last time that happened it was a Windows 7 update playing up.

Hmmm, mse seems to be more prevalent than I thought. I use it also, just as an extra scanner, not as an active one. Using SandboxIE and by not clicking on every thing that claims to have a naked celebrity on it, I tend not to worry about virus/malware as much. I still occasionally frap frap, just to my own stuff.

Haven't run an AV scanner in a while now. Everything dubious gets opened on a virtual machine that I snapshot pre opening. Patch windows regularly, etc.
If I do get anything it'll be another NOD32 license.

Norton Internet Security. Never thought I'd see the day when I loved a Norton/Symantec product. But the consistently great reviews across the board in this case are valid. As with all Av suites, whats great one year can quickly become second rate the following....

Symantec's corporate offering is a pretty good product (Norton is for the home market). It's only failing was the updates but I used a wee app called Norton Rapid Updater, that was pretty ancient but still worked as of last year.

I might be wrong, but it seems more like a 15 minute cycle.

None are even as good as their last update, that's why they rely on heuristics to try and keep as close behind the curve as they can.
