Budget games machine build

As haven't build PC in a while can people recommend parts to make a decent budget games machine. Has to at least be able to play Sims 3 properly
Budget, lets say £500 for now, cheaper the better.

Do you need a full system including case, hard drive,dvd drive screen keyboard/mouse or can you reuse anything like the case ?
Going on the assumption that all you need is the rig and no O.S.

I'd watch those Gskill sets of RAM. As far as I could see when I looked the other night they're manufactured to work with certain Intel processors. Anything else is supposed to make them unstable.

Didnt do any research but if thats the case then theres plenty of other 4gb deals on ebuyer between £19 and £30.

I've been toying with maxing out my RAM recently and had looked at them to begin with.
Corsair are always good value.

I think an i3 build will go toe to toe with any amd for a little cheaper in regards to gaming.
