Was given an ipad2 64gig yesterday  Have to say it is a mighty impressive piece of kit. Transferred all my music late last night and I have blue toothed it to my new sammy speakers. Sound quality and ease of use is great. Obvious downsides are the locked down nature although I have already managed to get a few James Herbert books and PC Gamer magazines on it via backdoors  Loving it although I wouldn't fork out the beer tokens myself. |

The locked down nature of the iPad is a complete turn off for me... Plus, since getting much more exposure to Linux lately I've gotten quite used to how Android works internally with it's gubbins. I actually last week bought one of these... http://uk.asus.com/Eee/Eee_Pad/Eee_Pad_Transformer_TF101/It's really good. Haven't rooted it yet, but I hear people are also working on dual booting Android and Ubuntu. I last finished charging it at about midnight on Monday, and it's currently still running off the keyboard battery! Admittedly, I bounce it on and off to use at work. I actually went from 9am to 7pm at work listening to music on Monday and it only just got to the battery in the pad! In fact the mix between keyboard and touch screen is actually very nice for a laptop. The best thing is, internal memory... expandable with SD card, and there is a SD card reader built in too.. and it can also host USB devices like cameras. I reckon it must be absolutely ridiculous once rooted. |

88 hours still on this charge so far.
Don't get me wrong, it's not on the entire time, but that's still flippling impressive. Try leaving an Android phone on for that amount of time!!
