It might be possible in the future, Windows 8 runs on ARM, which Tegra is based off.

Ubuntu is possible apparently.

It's does run Ubuntu fairly well according to Steve Mclaughlin. The guy's kind of one of the linux gurus over here.

Damn, HP shuts off the fountain on the tablets and now they're selling the touchpad for a 100$ a pop for the 16Gb. I want about 3 for that price.  Unfortunately, the finance minister believes I blew that idea with the addition of several new Roku's for the new house. The picture and sound quality off these hockey pucks is true HD(just ignore the fact you can play angry birds on them. That never happened.  I hate that game) Roku

Apparently the HP TouchPads can only play one format video and if the file is over 1GB it just refuses to play it.  So one user said.

I see Steve Knob Jobs has stepped down.  C**t he is.  Hated him more since watching Pirates of Silicon Valley.  And Steve Woz said the personalities in that movie of the people, like Bill and Steve are how they were.  So Steve was a c**t then, especially to some of his staff.  But Bill Gates weren't always Mr Nice Guy either.

Work got me an iPad2 this week.  Still playing with it but finding it pretty good so far.  I have used iTunes to put all my ebooks and music on it but that was a bit of a mission.  iTunes sync is badly borked.  When you try and do a sync the first thing it does is a backup but for some unknown reason the backup has about a 90% chance of hanging.  The forums are full of the problem which appears to be common particularly on 64bit machines. 

On top of that the Apple Store doesn't load and the only way to fix that is a complete uninstall and then reinstall of all Apple Software on your machine.  Even doing that will only get you access to the store until the next reboot of the PC when the problem comes back again requiring another unistall/reinstall.

Bottom line is that the Apple Software on 64 bit systems is crap at best.  Far easier to just use the iPad on Wifi and access the store directly.

The iPad is great.  The Apple store is a bit of a lemon though.
