I'm mulling over the digital purchase on origin which grants a mappack, guns, and so on but it seems Origin is only available for America?

http://www.battlefield.com/uk/battlefield3/pc-download

Pre-order Battlefield 3 from Origin and receive the Limited Edition at no extra cost which includes:

•Battlefield: Back To Karkand expansion pack, boldly re-imagined and featuring four legendary maps from Battlefield 2.
•Classic Battlefield 2 weapons and vehicles.
•Unique rewards, new achievements, trophies and more.
•Unlock the Battlefield 3 Edition 870 Combat Shotgun for Battlefield PLAY4FREE.
•Unlock the Battlefield 3 Edition Beret For Battlefield PLAY4FREE.
•48HR EARLY BETA ACCESS (Note consumers who bought Medal of Honor Limited Edition or Tier 1 Edition already have this reward)
£39.99 Pre-Order

Wait so the physical warfare pack isn't just a flash suppressor anymore? Guns too?

Which means people who pre-order are at a clear advantage over those who don't. Safe to say I won't be contributing to the EA coffers this time round then.  dry

I dont mind not having certain weapons from the start ... It's only a shotgun (I hardly ever use them) and an LMG ... It's something I got used to from COD4 on ... not everybody will be at the same 'advantage' but in the end it's just learning the maps and skill that shoots guns, not guns that give skills...

It doesnt cost a thing extra to pre-order though.

This includes the Type 88 light machine gun with bipod "for superior firepower and total zone control". Also included is the SKS sniper rifle flash suppressor that provides increased stealth abilities for Recon soldiers. And finally, the "lethal armour-piercing" flechette ammo for the DAO-12 semi-automatic shotgun "that is sure to tear through anything in its path".

It will give people who pre-order an advantage.  Wink

It's no big deal if those weapons are obtainable for those who didn't pre order and not exclusive to those who did. It actually means you will get more from the game trying to open them up.

No different from someone in BFBC2 just beginning and up against someone who has opened up the lot, it's fun trying to get them. Seems to be a culture of whinging building up these days from gamers when it's not all that warranted.

I'll be buying it.

I doubt DLC guns are going to be obtainable by ranking up, that just defeats the purpose and gives folk a blatant advantage on release.

Depends on how they handle DLC.  BC2 was all free except Vietnam ..
