Just an honest opinion, I would have hardly played it.
Given the thread is about pre-ordering I'm still glad I didn't. 

Each to their own and all that, but having to apologise and leave MP games all the time when calls came in started to put me right off them.
With a decent SP game I can pause it and Alt-Tab out to the desktop, deal with the call and then jump back in if I feel like it.

BF3 is all about the MP side, that's why it wouldn't be a good buy for me.

Really pissed off by the fact that I cant create multiple profiles. That means me and the three boys will be playing under my tricksterdude profile. I can see me having some really shit stats :-(

Only as good as your last game though, really...

I don't really care for stats very much.

To be honest I think it hands people the game too seriously too much information in which to boast about how elite they are. Even though it doesn't take in to account how good your opposition were.

Its not just about the stats, tbh, its also about ranking up and unlocking mods for weapons etc and personalising the kit you use.what is going to happen now is I'll have, for instance, my assault class set up the way I like it ill play a while then my boys will play and each of them will set it up to their liking which means I've got to reset it after every single time they play. Whereas in BC2 they all had their own profiles.

On another note the game itself is brilliant. There's a couple of wee niggles but I'm sure they'll get ironed out in time.

The shared profile thing is ridiculous.

Other then that the game is just brilliantly good.  It's just that more polished then BC2 although I can understand people would prefer BC2.
I do have my beefs with Origin and Battlelog and having to manage friends and join servers.  I do not like it at all ... but the gameplay itself is just bliss.  Responsive controls and up till now no sense of bad hit reg or lag.  Bliss. 
The customization just makes the classes that more organic.  More real soldiers instead of omg I'm an Engineer who sucks at distance.  People wont like this but I prefer it.

Ah, I suppose... can't you do more than one preset for each class?

One loadout saved per class like it was in BC2.  No biggy to switch it before deployment.


One special mention: it's one of the first games I see that utilizes laser sight and flashlight attachments so they work! The laser does help to aim from the hip and like the flashlights blinds the target if aimed on the eyes.  Genius.
