His 'crime', apparently, is making some powerful US government bodies look like abject dickheads.

Begs the question, if he (one innocuous bloke on a dial up modem) found it so easy to walk right in there, how far could/have those with far better resources have gone.

It's no real secret that China (among others) have swathes of experts trying to hack into anything and everything they can.
..so how much information have they reamed from those systems?

Tbh it looks like they're trying to hang Curious George in an attempt to save face while others are conducting wholesale robbery at their back door.

This a pretty good interview.

There's no great revelations at all, just some average bloke talking about some low res images he's seen.  confused

On one of the other interviews the he said that US claim he caused $5000 worth of damage to each machine he was active on, thats the basis of the extradition apparently. I cant figure out where that number would come from other than deleting some very expensive software from each pc  scratchhead but I would think that would have been noticed quicker than what his snooping was

He mentions that in the interview.

Btw..had to comment on one of the comments left on YouTube about him being some kind of 'hybrid' Alien Grey/Human.  nowink

Honestly, he looks like a relative of mine.
If Meggy is still around he'd confirm that he looks a bit like Janet Devine (sister of an uncle of mine and mother to the deviant Ronnie Devine..who's now a Cop in Wales (I think)..a job that's right up his street.  laugh)

They probably put it down as expenses for man hours that had to be used to check the machines out for stuff he could have planted etc

Yeah right, every machine they proved McKinnon accessed got wiped down and reinstalled. That's 100% guaranteed.

Two hours work, at best. Even less when you consider multiple machines would have been batched together and it's a largely automated process.

McKinnon does come across as a little bit of a mental, but quite articulate. Interesting how the UK Governments security is very tight. I'm not all that surprised considering GCHQ probably have quite a lot to do with security procedure.

Moreover, if McKinnon could get in, I do wonder what GCHQ could do.

If they haven't got in already they could hire Gary McKinnon.

I thought the same but he said he's not a professional hacker.  Pen Testers are the people to hire.

Yeah but there not going to say it was that easy if they want to rack up a bill in order to extradite him
