It's worth a bash, nothing else they've tried has worked.
They got wiped out here 14 years ago (after a steady decline) and all they've managed since is the odd seat here and there.

I doubt very much if disbanding and launching under a different name will make too much difference to Scottish voters somehow.  Too many people in Scotland were burned by them over the years, they will still be Tories albeit under a new name

In an electoral pact with the Conservatives, successful Scottish MPs of the new party would then take the Conservative whip in the Commons and be eligible for ministerial posts in any Conservative government. 

Why don't they just join the LibDems?

Good plan, they could double their number of Scottish seats to two in the next General Election.
