http://www.bethblog.com/index.php/2011/09/06/rage-system-requirements/

Look at the space required on the drive for it.. flee  tongue2
(Fallout 3 GOTY is only 11GB with all the expansion packs, and the texture mods I applied to it.)

US release is in a month today.

Graphically it's not very demanding but in terms of space it's astronomical.  blink

I wonder if it'll be worth the full chunk.

It's the first game to use ID Tech 5 (based on OpenGL) and it's probably fair to say that the textures will likely take up a fair chunk of the 25GB.

This interview with John Carmack explains the cross platform problem pretty well.

(You can see as he zooms in, the textures don't render on the fly, they're already there)

I'm rather impressed with the recommended system specs.
 Cool

Looking forwards to the popular use of Open GL again.

They're also releasing the source code when the game is launched, which makes sense from a business point of view.

If it works well then 5 years of hard work will start paying dividends....and the mod community get a bonus.  smile

The trailers graphics actually don't look all that impressive... that said, the second one with Carmack did look more pretty....

I'm interested in Rage... interesting the specs are so low. I suspect it had something to do with the PS3 (although, I hope the PC has some scurry room)

I've always found OpenGL to be a bit on the 'blobby' side compared to DirectX.

I suppose that has something to do with the low system requirements.

Though apparently the PC version has all sorts of problems.

Apparently on the PC version characters are disappearing in and out... apparently it's due to the texture streaming, and not enough cores (though I hear it being reported on all sorts of PCs)

Worse on ATi stuff, but still not great on nVidia. Though reading back in this thread it seems my initial assumptions were quite... well... telling lol

I read that it was a problem on systems that didn't have multi-core CPU's but high end graphics cards:

Another thing I heard was that ID have neglected to put any sort of settings customisation in....for a PC game that is scandalous frankly.
