Servers are chocka and the means of getting onto them is a bit clunky. Also, you can't customise the keys until you actually deploy and even then it doesn't appear to recognise mouse buttons.  |

Doesn't like whatever drivers I downloaded... got this weird half proning, half running thing going on, and all sorts of flickery shadows. Looks quite pretty though...
Gameplay... more of the same generic FPS really. I dunno how you lot buy basically the same game year on year!!

BF1942 ---through to Vietnam ----> BF2 (shit never played it) ---> BF BC 2. Hardly the same game year after year, same as you plus one being BFBC2. |

I'd have to disagree Doesn't play like a cod game at all. Cod is 100 % arcade and BFBC2/BF3 plays half way house between arcade shooter and strategic/team/clan play shooter. FWIW I'm considering cancelling my pre order. I initially liked it during the Alpha stage but the open Beta feels much the same as BFBC2 which I already own. |

Maybe it'd be better with vehicles, but to be honest im just charging around shooting people and it doesn't feel that un-coddy to me. Maybe CoDs bullets fire straight, and BF2s have drop and other stuff... but once you learn to fire it counts for nowt anyway.
For me there isn't enough originality in FPS any more, be it slightly more realistic, it's still choose gun you've unlocked, run round map shooting people, in desert/urban or some kind of forest... Which is why I am tending to play it less... only one I really touch is TF2 and that's because you can make it incredibly varied... Let's face it, BF3 might be this years CoD...
Oh, and the fact that it's populated by little muppets... I've kinda enjoyed not having to deal with the bottom feeders
I dunno, I just don't see me buying the latest and greatest FPS all the time, I'm certainly not getting into the habit of buying Call of Duty every year with minor changes in multiplayer for a premium.

My gripe is that it's 100% micro lag on hit reg the same as BFBC2. It just doesn't feel right and is the reason I stopped playing BFBC2. I initially thought it was my wireless connection and allowed it forgiveness for the first 6 months I played it. Then when I got a more perma set up that was hard wired I realised it was the game itself, or is apparent now the actual frostbite 2.0 engine. I honestly do not think it's this years CoD. CoD is an annual thing and BF3 is the first actual true (claiming to be) BF game since BF2, not forgetting BFBC2 which was a precursor experiment IMO on PC to see how the latest console PC cross over dev tech worked. It was not a true BF game. RO2 spanks the tits off both games IMO as far as atmosphere and actual atmospheric immersion plus team play goes. RO2 was made for less than the advertisement budget of BF3. Goes to show, there are some PC devs and actual software houses out there that understand the PC platform and develop for it as a primary platform as opposed to a secondary afterthought to make a couple of more bucks out of the major console release. Anyhoo.....TF2 is crap as are most HL2 based MP games.  ( go on react, react  ) |

First thing I noticed was the standard in game chat that consisted of kids moaning about nothing and using the word 'noob' as often as possible. Given it was about 12 hours into the public beta, chances are almost everyone was a noob and still trying to figure out the play and key bindings.  |

personally i think its an improvement from bad company , movement feels great ,love having the alt-fire on the weapons and all the new stuff. its the same old scenario but there isn't much more can be done with a fps if you ask me but refine it and make it more immersive . its a battlefield game for sure but more arcade & more fun to play on you own than before but at the same time more tactical and more suited to team play as well in my opinion  looking forward too it |
