Is there any software out there that can monitor which software is using my internet?

At the moment, being charged £20 on top of my contract bill really sucks. I need to curb the amount of software that uses the internet.

Also, is there a way of downloading chrome's updates manually, my main gripe about that browser and Google in particular, that it assumes that I am on unlimited internet which isn't right

There are two programes iv come a across thatt you use  in conjunction with each other, you find out what ports are being used then you open 1 of the progs wich links a process number to the port then the other prog tells you what process is running under the process number. Ill do some digging, unless.woostys is free, didnt open the link.

I think it was some knob hacking into my dongle, unless someone had clone my SIM for the dongle or my ISP had mistakenly given the same number for the account to someone else
